Changuu Private Island Paradise, sometimes known as Prison Island, is a small islet off the coast of Zanzibar, Tanzania. This popular tourist destination is known for its immaculate white sandy beaches, clean waterways, and the presence of stately giant tortoises. Historically, the island was used as a prison facility for political dissidents and enslaved people. Nonetheless, it was abandoned in the early 1900s, resulting in the tortoises’ release. The island now has a population of around 100 of these amazing creatures, making it a popular tourist destination.
