Nungwi Marine Turtles Mnarani Zanzibar is a wonderful conservation pond located in the lovely coastal area of Nungwi, Zanzibar. This large, natural tidal pool tucked in the coral reef behind the beach provides as a haven for sea turtles. The conservation pond, which was originally constructed to rehabilitate and research turtles trapped in fishing nets, now invites tourists who can see these wonderful creatures up close while also learning about important conservation initiatives. Some visitors may even be able to swim with the turtles or assist in feeding operations. During low tide, the pond is advantageously located within walking distance of most Nungwi resorts, offering visitors easy access.
