Background

The Dar es Salaam School of Journalism (DSJ) is a full-fledged college that was founded in 1998 and registered with the National Council for Technical Education (NACTE) on April 4, 2003, with its registration number being REG/PWF/012. The DSJ is Tanzania’s 2nd private institution to offer journalism training.

Since that time, Dar es Salaam School of Journalism has continuously provided journalism training at the Diploma and Basic Technician certificate levels, with an annual average of roughly 300 diploma and basic technical certificate graduates. From 2020 July, DSJ will offer a new curriculum, “Market and Public Relations,” at both levels.

Dar es Salaam School of Journalism is one of the country’s most prestigious communication and journalism training institutes, with a large number of graduates working in the media, government, international organizations, and private enterprises.

Dar es Salaam School of Journalism has now joined its sister colleges under the umbrella of the Union of Training Institutions (UTI), which was founded in 2016.
