History
The Open University of Tanzania is an independent, accredited, and full-fledged public university created by the Act of Parliament No 17 of 1992. This act became operational on March 1, 1993, through the publication of Government Notice No 55 in the formal gazette. A full ceremony heralded the installation of the university’s first chancellor on January 19, 1994. The university’s first batch of students was officially admitted in January 1994. After the ratification of the Universities Act number 7 of 2005, the university began using the OUT Rules and Charter (2007). Open University of Tanzania address is P.O.
